About

Approach

To me, creating a brand is all about the clearest, cleanest, most focused communication between speaker and listening (or projector and viewer) that can be had.

I start by clearing out the chaff, figuring out what aspects of a client’s story, personality and offerings should be outward-facing.

Then it’s a matter of establishing a hierarchy of which information should be taken in first, then second, and onward until a fully rounded-out brand is perceived by the intended recipient of the message.

It works more or less the same way with individuals and companies, though there are special considerations for both, and different tools that are more useful for one or the other.

Services

I offer both brand consulting and construction/reconstruction collections of services.

Most of my clients have a particular goal in mind, even if they’re not quite sure what it will take to get there. It may be that they’re looking to raise brand awareness with a certain demographic, change overall brand perception, or help a rising star within the company strengthen their personal brand so that they can more easily assume a position of public leadership.

I’m happy to give a free email consultation, during which you can explain to me a bit about yourself or your company, and what goals you’re looking to achieve. At that point I can tell you what steps I think should be taken and give an estimate of what it would cost.

If you prefer, we also can do the preliminary consultation over the phone (though it would be at half my normal hourly consulting fee, not free).

Colin Wright, branding expert

Who Is Colin Wright?

I’m a serial entrepreneur and world-traveler.

I was educated as a designer, artist and writer, but am an autodidact businessperson.

I’m a blogger and a Minimalist, and a big fan of extreme lifestyle experiments (I currently move to a new country every 4 months…my readers vote on which countries I move to) and personal development.

Up until 2009, I ran a branding- and sustainability-focused multidisciplinary studio out of Los Angeles, where I worked with all kinds of clients, including but not limited to Procter & Gamble, Wal-Mart, FATTOC, Skeuter, Pepperdine University, Pomplamoose, Public Diplomacy Magazine, Segrave Associates, The Whole 9, The Zizo Group, Lunchbox, Coco Eco Magazine, Charmoné, Eco Caters, Sielian’s Vintage Apparel, The Donkaphant Film Festival, Potomac Communications Group, University of Southern California, Marilyn Scott and Missouri State University.

Now I travel full time, running my own businesses and taking on fewer clients (carefully chosen) so that I can be sure to give each the attention they deserve.
